A Dog Mom's Journey

EmoPups was born from founder Tania Oosthuizen's personal experiences as a dog owner in Sea Point. Walking her three beloved dogs - one anxious, one a bit gruff and one chilled. Tania often felt judged and misunderstood by other pet owners. She found herself avoiding busy areas and struggling with well-meaning but uninvited approaches from off-leash dogs.

These challenges sparked an idea: what if there was a simple, visual way to communicate a dog's temperament to others? This thought led to the creation of EmoPups colour-coded bandana system.

Tania's vision was clear - to develop a method for dog owners to easily convey their pets' needs without confrontation or explanation. At its core, EmoPups is about more than just avoiding difficult situations. It's a tool for fostering better understanding between dogs and humans and amoung dog owners themselves. By providing an easy, visual way to "read" a dog's personality, EmoPups helps create safer, more harmonious interactions for all.
